Technical data notes

Unless otherwise stated, all technical data applies to standard production vehicles sold in Germany. These values may differ for special vehicles and vehicles intended for other countries.

The data in the vehicle registration documents always takes precedence.

Engine specifications

Engine power values are determined according to EU directives.

Performance

Vehicle performance is determined without performance-reducing equipment such as mudguards or very wide tyres.

Curb weight

The values (curb weight according to the current EU directive 92/21/EEC) apply to the vehicle with the fuel tank filled to 90 %, without optional equipment. The values include a weight of 75 kg allocated to the driver.

When towing a trailer, the gross vehicle weight and the rear axle load limit may be exceeded by up to 45 kg.

Permitted towing loads

Permitted towing loads are determined according to the current EU directive 95/21/EC.

The figures for braked trailers and gradients up to 8 % generally apply to a maximum speed of 80 km/h

(also in countries where higher speed limits apply for towing a trailer).

The figures for towing a trailer with brakes and for gradients up to 12 % as well as the towing weights for gradients up to 12 % apply at a maximum speed of 100 km/h. If a higher speed is permitted in certain countries, the speed of 100 km/h must still not be exceeded.

Permitted noseweight

The maximum permitted noseweight on the towball must not exceed 80 kg.

To maintain road safety, we recommend always using the maximum permitted weight. A weight that is too low impairs the handling of the towing vehicle and trailer combination.

If you cannot use the maximum permitted weight (e.g. if the trailer is small or light), the minimum noseweight required by law must be 4 % of the actual towed load (single-axle trailer or two-axle trailer with an axle spacing of less than 1.0 m).
