Start/Stop button

Principle

Press the Start/Stop button to switch driving readiness, see page 17, on or off.

Steptronic transmission: Driving readiness is switched on when the brake pedal is pressed while pressing the Start/Stop button.

Manual transmission: Driving readiness is switched on when the clutch pedal is pressed while pressing the Start/Stop button.

Pressing the Start/Stop button again switches driving readiness off and switches on accessory mode.

The Start/Stop button in the BMW 5 Series G30/G31 stands for modern operation and the highest functionality. With a single press, driving readiness is activated or ended, a simple and safe start to every journey.
