In addition to the station name, some FM stations broadcast the genre of the programme they are transmitting.

This radio is able to receive and display this information.

Examples of genres:

CULTURE, TRAVEL, JAZZ, SPORT, NEWS, POP, ROCK, CLASSICS.

The PTY function can be used to select programmes of a specific genre.

PTY-EON Mode If the desired programme genre is set and the scan process is started, the radio will switch from the current station to a station broadcasting a programme of the selected genre.

• If the radio tuner cannot find any station matching the selected genre, “NO PTY” appears on the display. The radio then tunes back to the last station listened to.
• If the current station or another station in the radio network starts broadcasting a programme of the selected genre a little later, the radio switches to it as soon as the programme starts, from the station currently playing or from CD/MP3* or CD changer playback.

Selecting the PTY Language You can select the language in which the programme genres are displayed.

The following languages are available: “DEUTSCH” (German), “ENGLISH” (English) and “FRANCAIS” (French).

The currently set genre will appear on the display.

The selected genre will appear on the display briefly.
