Radio anti-theft function

~1min read

To provide anti-theft protection, the radios store the last 8 characters of the VIN.

When +ACC is switched on, the radio compares its VIN with the one recorded in the BSI via the VAN CONFORT network.

If the 2 VIN codes do not match, the radio operates in scrambled mode.

Scrambled mode consists of a beep superimposed on the audio signal, which prevents normal use of the radio.

Note: Radios are supplied as spare parts with the VIN stored.

The VIN of the BSI cannot be reprogrammed.

MANDATORY: The VIN of a radio must be changed using the diagnostic tool if the radio is reused.
