GENERAL INFORMATION.

Before repairing the clutch, transmission or drive, check the gear shift

(except in cases of obvious failures) and check the

technical condition of the transmission and diagnose possible causes of

malfunction. Clutch and manual transmission malfunctions often

show up as difficult gear shifting (increased force on the shift lever,

jerky engagement, gear grinding) or gear jumping out of mesh. If these signs are present, carefully analyze the

condition of the unit by performing testing and adjustment operations.
