Remove or disconnect:

PROCEDURE.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Loosen filler plug cap 234..

3. Spring retainer 223 and drive universal joint pin 237..

4. Remove bolts 226 securing the cover..

4a. Remove cover 235 from the housing..

Installation

PROCEDURE.

1. Cover 235 and gasket onto transmission housing..

2. Screw in the bolts.

226. Tighten the bolts to 22 N·m.

3. Insert the shaft 237 into the joint, install the retainer.

4. Check the transmission oil level. If necessary, top up the oil and

bring the level to the specified level.

5. Install the plugs in place.

6. Negative battery cable.
