  • turn the ignition key to the AVV position and release it as soon as the engine starts.

0.9 TwinAir 85 HP / 0.9 TwinAir Turbo 105 HP versions: if a gear other than neutral is engaged after applying the parking brake, fully depress the clutch pedal, then turn the ignition key to the AVV position and release it immediately after the engine starts.

Diesel versions

  • Apply the parking brake, place the gear lever in neutral and turn the ignition key to the MAR position: the warning lamps light up on the instrument cluster/
    . Wait for the warning lamps to go out, then fully depress the clutch pedal, without pressing the accelerator pedal;
  • turn the ignition key to the AVV position immediately after the warning lamp goes out
    . Release the ignition key immediately after the engine starts.

WARNING If the engine does not start the first time, turn the ignition key to the STOP position before repeating the starting procedure. If, with the key in the MAR position, the warning lamps/
on the
instrument cluster (petrol and diesel versions) remain lit, set the key to the STOP position, then back to the MAR position. If the warning lamps do not go out, try starting the engine with the other key supplied with the vehicle. If the engine still cannot be started, contact a Fiat authorised dealer. Never leave the ignition key in the MAR position when the engine is switched off.

Dualogic gearbox versions

The system allows the engine to be started both with a gear engaged and with the gearbox in neutral (N). However, always press the brake pedal first if a gear other than neutral is engaged. Before starting the engine, it is recommended to place the gear lever in neutral (N).
