HD Radio™ Information (if equipped)

To activate HD Radio, see Radio Settings in the Settings chapter. See Settings.

HD Radio technology is the digital evolution of analog AM/FM radio. Your system has a special receiver that lets you receive digital broadcasts (where available) in addition to the analog broadcasts it already receives. Digital broadcasting provides better sound quality than analog broadcasting, with free, crystal-clear sound and no static or distortion. For more information and a guide to available stations and programming, please visit:

When HD Radio is on and you tune to a station broadcasting HD Radio technology, you may notice the following indicators on the display:

The HD logo turns gray when connecting to a digital station, then turns orange when playing digital audio. When this information is available, you may also see the title and artist on the display.

The multicast indicator appears in FM mode (only) if the current station broadcasts multiple digital programs. The highlighted numbers indicate the available digital channels where new or different content is available. HD1 indicates the main program status and is available in both analog and digital broadcasts. Other multicast stations (HD2 through HD7) are available in digital only.

When HD Radio broadcasts are active, you can access the following features:
