  1. Motor/wheel flow: shows the direction of power flow between the wheels and the electric motor.
  2. Electric motor: represents the hybrid electric motor. The higher the motor output, the wider the circle around the node. The motor node lights up to indicate that the vehicle is ready to drive.
  3. Battery/motor flow1: shows the direction of power flow between the high-voltage battery and the electric motor. If the flow points toward the motor, the battery is supplying the power needed to accelerate the vehicle (discharging the battery). If the flow points toward the battery, the electric motor is supplying power to charge the battery (charging the battery).
  4. Other2: includes all power-consuming accessories, including low-voltage accessories such as the A/C fan, headlights and heated seats. The more power these accessories use, the larger the circle around the node. This node lights up whenever the vehicle is switched on because low levels of power are always being used.
  5. Air conditioning2,3: includes the power consumption of high-voltage air conditioning components, such as the electric A/C compressor.

The more power these components use, the larger the circle around the node.

  • High-voltage battery: represents your high-voltage battery. A circle lights up around the node when the high-voltage battery receives electrical power from regenerative braking or from the engine charging it. The more power the high-voltage battery receives, the larger the circle around the node.
  • Fuel: represents the vehicle's fuel tank.
  • Fuel/engine flow: shows the flow between the fuel tank and the engine when the engine is running and using fuel (in some cases the engine is running but not using fuel). When the engine is running but not using fuel, the engine node is active but the fuel flow path is off. This can happen when your foot is not on the accelerator pedal and the vehicle is travelling at high speed.
  • Engine started due to: shows the reason(s) the gasoline engine was started. When the gasoline engine is not running, this screen is not displayed. The reasons shown by the system's Engine started due to indicator are listed in the table below.
  • Electric motor/gasoline engine flow: shows the direction of power flow between the gasoline engine and the electric motor. The direction of the flow indicates whether the engine is supplying the power needed by the high-voltage system, or whether the high-voltage system is supplying the power needed to control or start the engine.
  • Engine power: represents the gasoline engine. It lights up only when the gasoline engine is running. The higher the gasoline engine power, the larger the circle around the node.
  • Engine/wheel flow: shows the direction of power flow between the engine and the wheels.
  • Drive power: represents the power transmitted to the wheels. The more power transmitted to the wheels, the larger the circle around the node. When the engine is off, drive power is shown in blue.
  • When the engine is running, the drive power is shown in grey.

1Battery/motor flow includes the battery power used to accelerate the vehicle. It does not include energy used by the vehicle for accessories (such as air conditioning, headlights and radio). This screen shows accessory and air conditioning usage separately.

2 Other: indicates the electrical power requirements needed to operate the vehicle's accessory systems. Accessories use power but do not contribute to moving the vehicle. The power flow shows the power used by the air conditioning system and other accessories separately.

3The air conditioning system may consider air conditioning to be required even if you have switched it off. In this case, you may see some power being used by the air conditioning, even though it is switched off.
