Auxiliary Heating System
For diesel engine vehicles only
Your vehicle is equipped with an auxiliary heating system. This system helps the heater warm the air before the engine warms up. The system uses the air conditioner to heat the air.
The auxiliary heating system operates automatically when the following conditions are met:
• Engine coolant temperature is below 75 °C.
• Outside air temperature is below 5 °C.
• Maximum cooling mode is not selected for the driver zone.
• The desired fan speed is set.
After the engine warms up, or if the outside air temperature rises, the auxiliary heating system will switch off automatically.
While the system is operating, you may hear a noise from the engine compartment. This is not a sign of a malfunction and indicates that the auxiliary heating system is switched on.
The auxiliary heating system will not switch on if the outside air temperature is too low (below - 35 °C).
