If the recirculation indicator is on, air circulates inside the vehicle in a closed loop. If the recirculation indicator is off, outside air enters the vehicle.
Outside air enters the climate control system through the air intake grilles located at the base of the windshield. Periodically clean the air intake grille openings of leaves and debris.
In most cases, it is preferable to have outside air enter the passenger compartment.
