Radio Tuning
To tune the radio to a station in any frequency band, you can use one of five methods: manual tuning, seek function, scan function, and manual and automatic preset button programming.
MANUAL TUNING – Use the SEEK button to tune the radio to the desired frequency. Press the
button to increase the tuning frequency. Press the
button to decrease the tuning frequency.
You can also use the SELECT button and the volume knob to tune the radio.
Press the SELECT button. The
indicator will appear on the display. Turn the volume knob clockwise to increase the tuning frequency, or counterclockwise to decrease it.
The radio will exit tuning mode 10 seconds after the tuning frequency is last changed with the knob. To exit tuning mode before 10 seconds have elapsed, press the SELECT button, the
or the
.
SEEK FUNCTION – When the SEEK button is pressed, the radio switches to seek mode in the current frequency band. In this mode, the radio tunes to the next higher or lower station with a sufficiently strong signal. To activate the seek function, press and hold the
or
button until you hear a beep.
SCAN FUNCTION – When this function is activated, the radio automatically scans the entire selected frequency band, stopping briefly at each station with a strong signal. To activate this function, press and release the SCAN button. The SCAN indicator will appear on the display. When a station with a strong signal is found, the radio will play that station for approximately 10 seconds.
If no button is pressed during this time, the radio will resume scanning the band and search for the next station, which will also play for approximately 10 seconds. If you want to listen to the station found during scanning for a longer time, press the SCAN button again.
PRESET BUTTONS – Each preset button can store one AM station and two FM stations.
1. Select the AM or FM frequency band.
2. Tune the radio to the desired station using manual tuning, the seek function, or the scan function.
3. Select one of the preset buttons (1 – 6) for the found station. Press and hold this button until you hear a short beep.
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 to store the frequencies of other stations (six AM station frequencies and twelve FM station frequencies).
AUTO PRESET FUNCTION – If you are away from home and the radio can no longer receive the stations it was preset to, you can use the auto preset function to reprogram all preset buttons with local stations.
Press the A.SEL button. The flashing A.SEL indicator will appear on the display, and the radio will switch to scan mode for several seconds. The radio will automatically store the frequencies of six FM stations to the preset buttons.
The radio may not find enough local stations with a strong signal. In this case, when the corresponding preset button is pressed, the display will show the indicator "0".
If you do not like the stations found by the automatic tuning mode, you can manually reprogram some of the preset buttons as described above.
To turn off the automatic tuning mode, press the A.SEL button. The previously stored station frequencies will be restored.
