CD Playback Interruption for News Reception
To turn on this function, press and hold the
button for more than 2 seconds, then select the "NEWS" program type. During CD playback, the system stores the FM station or PTY network to which the radio was last tuned.
When this function is active, if an FM station broadcasts news, the system stops playback of the CD or external audio device connected to the AUX jack or USB port and switches to the news broadcast.
You can adjust the news broadcast volume. For volume adjustment information, refer to page 251.
When the broadcast information type changes, or if the station cannot be received for 10 seconds due to weak signal, the system automatically returns to CD playback mode.
The audio system provides several types of interruptions, including traffic announcements. The interruption function that was activated first has the highest priority. To activate an interruption caused by any other function, the currently active interruption function must be turned off.
Emergency Alert Messages: The "ALARM" code is used to broadcast emergency messages, for example, warnings about natural disasters. When this code is received, "ALARM" appears on the display and the volume level changes. After the message is cancelled, the audio system returns to normal operation.
