Oil Pressure Switch
PROCEDURE
1. The oil pressure warning lamp comes on when the ignition is turned on and goes off after the engine starts. If the lamp does not come on after the ignition is turned on, check the oil pressure switch, ignition switch, lamp and electrical wires.

2. If there is voltage with the ignition on and no voltage after the engine starts, the oil pressure switch is good and the lamp and electrical wires must be checked.
Oil pressure switch operating pressure: 14.71–29.42 kPa

3. Using special tool 09260–32000, tighten the oil pressure switch to the specified torque.
Tightening Torque:
Oil pressure switch with level sensor assembly: 8–12 N·m
Oil pressure switch: 13–15 N·m
Inspection
PROCEDURE

1. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between the switch terminal and the cylinder block. If there is no continuity, replace the switch.
2. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between the switch terminal and the cylinder block with the switch plunger extended. If there is continuity even with the plunger extended, replace the switch.

3. However, if there is no continuity even when a vacuum of 50 kPa is applied to the switch port, the switch is operating properly.
