PROCEDURE

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Drain the coolant into a suitable container and disconnect the hose from the coolant outlet on the water pump.
2. Remove the drive belt and the water pump pulley.
3. Remove the timing belt covers and the timing belt tensioner roller.
4. Remove the water pump mounting bolts, then remove the generator bracket.
5. Remove the water pump from the cylinder block.
