Raising the Vehicle with the Jack

You must know how to raise the vehicle with the jack in order to change a tire in case of a flat tire and to install tire chains.

After stopping the engine and applying the parking brake on a level surface, also use wheel chocks to secure the wheels.

Position the jack only at the specific jacking points shown in the illustration. Using the jack at other points may damage the vehicle body.

Jack handle Bypass valve
Using the jack handle, turn the bypass valve clockwise until it stops.

Then insert the handle into the pump plunger and align the handle groove with the holder recess.
Move the jack handle up and down to raise the plunger.
Using the jack handle, slowly turn the bypass valve counterclockwise to lower the plunger.
Push the plunger down fully and turn the bypass valve clockwise as far as it will go.

CAUTION:
1. Use only the jack supplied with the vehicle and only for changing a wheel.
2. Place the jack on a firm, level surface.
3. If the bypass valve is disconnected - turned two or more times counterclockwise, the jack oil will leak out and the jack cannot be used.
4. This jack is hydraulic and has a two-stage plunger. When both plungers are raised and the stop mark (green paint) on the upper plunger becomes visible, stop the jack immediately. Further extension of the plunger may damage the jack.
5. When using the jack, make sure no one is in or under the vehicle.
6. When raising the vehicle with the jack, the tires should be lifted only slightly off the ground.
It is dangerous to raise the vehicle with the jack too high.
7. It is very dangerous if the jack slips out in any way. Therefore, never leave the vehicle raised and never shake the vehicle while it is raised.
