Towing

Tow only at the designated location. Use only tow hooks specifically designed for this purpose, otherwise the vehicle body will be damaged.

Towing requirements vary by country. It is recommended to follow the towing requirements applicable in your country. If you need to tow the vehicle, be sure to observe the following:

Rear (minivan, van)

1. Shift the transmission lever to the Neutral position.

2. Make sure the towing speed is within the allowable limits.

3. On vehicles with a steering wheel lock, turn the ignition switch to the "ACC" position to release the steering wheel. If you will use the turn signals while towing, turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.

4. To prevent exhaust gas from entering the towed vehicle, set the airflow control lever on the heater control to the recirculation position.

5. Turn on the hazard warning lights.

6. During towing, make sure there is communication between the drivers of both vehicles and that the vehicles travel at low speed. Avoid sudden starts or stops, which may cause the vehicles to collide.

7. If the transmission is not working or is damaged, tow the vehicle with the rear wheels raised off the ground.

8. On a vehicle equipped with a brake booster, brake assist is lost and greater force is required to depress the brake pedal.

9. If the vehicle is equipped with power steering, greater force is required to turn the steering wheel.

You may use your vehicle to tow another vehicle only if the weight of the other vehicle is less than the weight of your vehicle.
