Engine Oil Selection

1. Use engine oil that meets the following API classification.

Gasoline engine Europe: SG, SG/CD, SH or SH/CD Outside Europe: SE or higher

Diesel engine 2.6 N/A: CF-4 or higher 2.5 4D56 T/C or TCI: CF-4 or higher 2.5 CRDi TCI: CE or higher

2. Select engine oil with the appropriate viscosity grade according to the air temperature.

The illustration shows the recommended viscosity.

Gasoline engine

Diesel engine (except 2.5 CRDi)

Diesel engine (2.5 CRDi only)

For a vehicle with a diesel engine, SAE 0W-30 oil should be used only in areas with very low temperatures of 10 ºC (50 ºF) or below.

If the air temperature is 0 ºC (32 ºF) or below, SAE 30 oil must not be used in a vehicle with a diesel engine. This oil may only be used in areas where the air temperature is 0 ºC (32 ºF) or above.
