Battery Inspection

~2min read

При работе с аккумуляторной батареей необходимо соблюдать следующие меры предосторожности,CAUTION:

Observe the following precautions when working with the battery to avoid serious injury.

Battery electrolyte contains a concentrated sulfuric acid solution, which is poisonous and highly corrosive. Be careful not to spill it on yourself or on the vehicle. If you do spill electrolyte on yourself, immediately do the following:

• If electrolyte gets on your skin, flush the affected area with water for at least 15 minutes, then seek medical attention.

• If electrolyte gets in your eyes, flush your eyes with water and seek medical attention as soon as possible. While on the way to receive medical attention, continue flushing your eyes with a sponge or soft cloth soaked in water.

• If you swallow electrolyte, drink a large amount of water or milk, then drink milk of magnesia, eat a raw egg, or drink vegetable oil. Seek medical attention as soon as possible.

When batteries are charged (either from a battery charger or from the alternator), they produce explosive gases. To prevent injury, always observe the following precautions:

Charge the batteries only in a well-ventilated area.

Do not allow flames, sparks, or smoke in this area.

Do not allow children in this area.

Disconnection and Connection

Do not disconnect the battery while the engine is running; doing so may damage electrical components.

When disconnecting, disconnect the negative terminal first, then the positive terminal. When connecting the battery, connect the positive terminal first, then the negative terminal.

• Поддерживайте чистоту клемм. После подсоединения аккумуляторной батареи нанеситеCAUTION:

• Keep the terminals clean. After connecting the battery, apply protective grease to the terminals. Use warm water to clean the terminals.

• Do not short-circuit the battery; this will cause it to overheat and be damaged.

• Do not smoke or create an open flame near the battery, as this will ignite the explosive gas produced by the battery.

• Battery electrolyte is highly corrosive. Do not allow it to contact your eyes, skin, clothing, or painted surfaces of the vehicle.

Spilled electrolyte must be flushed immediately with plenty of water. Eye or skin irritation from contact with electrolyte requires immediate medical attention.

• If the battery must be quickly recharged, first disconnect the battery cables.

• To prevent a short circuit, always disconnect the negative (-) terminal before performing any other work.
