Wheel Condition

Check the tires for cuts, cracks, and other damage. Replace the tires if there are deep cuts or cracks. Also check each tire for pieces of metal or large stones embedded in the tread.

Driving on worn tires is dangerous because the risk of skidding or hydroplaning (a layer of water between the tire and the road surface at high speed on wet roads) increases.

The tread depth must be more than 1.6 mm (0.06 in.) to meet the minimum usage requirements.

If the tread wear indicators appear as circular bands at 6 locations on the tire surface, the tire no longer meets the minimum usage requirements. Replace the tires with new ones when these wear indicators appear. Make sure the wheel nuts are tightened securely. For tire care information, refer to the "Maintenance" section of this manual.
