Pull the parking brake lever fully up to check the number of "clicks" of the ratchet mechanism.

One "click" is the movement of the lever past one notch. For normal engagement, the lever must travel a specified number of notches.

• Parking brake lever travel: 5 to 7 notches

If the parking brake lever travel is outside the specified range, have the parking brake lever adjusted by an authorized Hyundai dealer.
