In hazardous driving conditions such as water, snow, ice, mud or sand: Drive with caution and allow extra braking distance.
Avoid sudden acceleration or braking.
If you become stuck in snow, mud or sand, use second gear. Accelerate slowly to prevent the drive wheels from spinning.
WARNING Downshifting with an automatic transmission while driving on slippery surfaces may cause an accident. A sudden change in tire speed may cause the vehicle to skid. Be careful when downshifting on slippery surfaces.Use sand, rock salt or other non-slip material under the drive wheels to provide traction when stuck on ice, snow or mud.
