What is the maximum weight for a trailer? It must never weigh more than the maximum trailer weight with brakes fitted.

But even so, it may be too heavy. It depends on how you intend to use the trailer.

For example, speed, altitude, road gradient, outside temperature and how often the vehicle is used to tow the trailer are important factors. The ideal trailer weight may also depend on any special equipment fitted to the vehicle.
