Recommended driving practices
- Never put the vehicle in neutral and coast down a hill. It is extremely dangerous.
- Do not overuse the brakes. This can cause overheating and malfunction of the brakes and related components.
- When driving downhill, slow down and shift to a lower gear. Engine braking helps slow the vehicle.
- Slow down before downshifting. This helps prevent a sudden rise in engine speed, which can cause damage.
- Slow down in crosswinds. Vehicle control improves significantly.
- Make sure the vehicle is completely stopped before shifting into reverse to avoid transmission damage.
- Use extreme caution when driving on slippery surfaces. Be especially careful when braking, accelerating, or shifting gears.
On a slippery surface, a sudden change in vehicle speed can cause the tyres to lose traction, resulting in loss of vehicle control and a possible accident.
WARNING To reduce the risk of SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH: - ALWAYS wear your seat belt. In a collision, an unbelted occupant is far more likely to be injured or killed than a properly belted occupant. - Avoid high speeds when turning or cornering. - Do not make sudden steering movements, such as quick lane changes or sharp, sudden turns. - The risk of rollover increases significantly if you lose control of the vehicle at highway speeds. - Loss of control often occurs when two or more tyres leave the road and the driver oversteers to return to the road. - If the vehicle leaves the roadway, do not steer sharply. Instead, slow down before returning to the lane. - HYUNDAI recommends that you obey all posted speed limits.Test yourself
