Emission Control System
The vehicle's emission control system is covered by a limited express warranty. Refer to the warranty information in the Service Passport in the vehicle.
The vehicle is equipped with an emission control system that meets applicable regulations.
There are three emission control systems:
(1) Crankcase emission control system
(2) Evaporative emission control system
(3) Exhaust emission control system
To ensure these systems operate correctly, have the vehicle inspected and serviced at an authorized HYUNDAI dealer following the maintenance schedule in this manual.
Notice for Inspection and Maintenance (I/M) Test (with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) System)
- To prevent the vehicle from failing to start during the dynamometer test, turn off the ESC (Electronic Stability Control) system by pressing the ESC switch.
- After the dynamometer test is completed, turn the ESC system back on by pressing the switch again.
Crankcase Emission Control System
The positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system is used to prevent air pollution caused by blow-by gases emitted from the crankcase. The system supplies filtered fresh air to the crankcase through the air intake hose.
Inside the crankcase, fresh air mixes with blow-by gases, which pass through the PCV valve into the intake system.
