- The injector operates under high voltage (max. 200 V). Therefore, the following accidents may occur:
- Direct contact with the injector or injector cable may cause electric shock, affecting muscles or the nervous system.
- Electromagnetic waves emitted by an operating injector may cause malfunction of cardiac pacemakers. - Follow the safety precautions below when inspecting the engine compartment with the engine running.
- Do not touch the injector, injector cables, or engine control module while the engine is running.
- Do not disconnect the injector connector while the engine is running.
- Owners of cardiac pacemakers must not approach the engine while it is being started or running.
WARNING
Diesel Engine
Never work on the injection system while the engine is running or within 30 seconds after the engine is stopped. The high-pressure pump, rail, injectors, and high-pressure lines remain under high pressure even when the engine is off. Fuel leaking from the injection nozzle may cause serious injury if sprayed onto the body. Owners of cardiac pacemakers should not approach within 30 cm of the ECM or wiring harness in the engine compartment while the engine is running, due to the strong magnetic fields generated by the high voltage passing through the engine control electronics.
