FCA Sensor

~1min read
Hyundai Ioniq. FCA Sensor

For the FCA system to operate properly, always keep the sensor cover clean and free of dirt, snow, and debris. Dirt, snow, or foreign material on the sensor lens may adversely affect sensor performance.

NOTICE

  • Do not attach a license plate frame or foreign objects, such as a bumper sticker or bumper guard, near the radar sensor. This may adversely affect the radar sensor performance.
  • Always keep the radar sensor and sensor cover clean and free of dirt and debris.
  • Use only a soft cloth when washing the vehicle. Do not spray water under high pressure directly at the sensor or sensor cover.
  • Be careful not to apply unnecessary force to the radar sensor or sensor cover. If the sensor is forcibly moved out of proper alignment, the FCA system may not operate correctly. In this case, the warning message may not be displayed. Have the vehicle checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
  • If the front bumper is damaged near the radar sensor, the FCA system may not operate correctly. Have the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
  • Use only genuine parts to repair or replace a damaged sensor or sensor cover. Do not paint the sensor cover.

NOTICE

  • NEVER install any accessories or stickers on the windshield, or tint the windshield.
  • NEVER place any reflective objects (such as white paper or a mirror) on top of the instrument panel. Any light reflection may cause system malfunction.
  • Take extreme care to keep the camera away from water.
  • NEVER disassemble the camera assembly or subject it to any impact.
  • Playing the car audio system at high volume may prevent the system from detecting warning sounds.

Information

Contact an authorized HYUNDAI dealer to inspect the system if:

  • The windshield has been replaced.
  • The front bumper has been replaced.
  • The sensor cover or sensor is damaged or has been replaced.
