Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS)
The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) or Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system will not prevent accidents caused by improper or dangerous driving maneuvers. Although control of the vehicle is improved during emergency braking, always maintain a safe distance between you and objects ahead of you. Vehicle speed must always be reduced in extreme road conditions. Stopping distance for vehicles equipped with ABS or ESC may be longer than without these systems in the following road conditions. Drive at reduced speed in the following cases:
- Rough, gravel, or snow-covered roads.
- On roads where the road surface is rough or has varying height.
- Snow chains are installed on your vehicle.
Do not test the safety functions of a vehicle equipped with ABS or ESC at high speed or while cornering. This may endanger your safety or the safety of others.
ABS is an electronic brake system that helps prevent skidding during braking. The ABS allows the driver to steer and brake at the same time.
