Transmission Control Module (TCM) Inspection Procedure
- TCM Ground Circuit Inspection: Measure the resistance between the TCM and the body ground. (Check the terminal connected to the body ground when using the rear of the harness connector as the base point for the TCM.)
Normal Reading (Resistance): Less than 1 Ω
- TCM Connector Inspection: Disconnect the TCM connector and visually check the ground terminal of the harness connector for bending. Also visually check the terminal crimp.
- If no problems are found during the inspection in Step 1 and Step 2, the TCM itself is faulty. In this case, replace the TCM and inspect the vehicle again.
- TCM Recheck: Install the TCM that was determined to be faulty from Step 3 into another vehicle. Clear the DTC and check operation on that vehicle. If the vehicle operates without problems, inspect the original vehicle with the initial problem again.
Removal
- Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Disconnect the TCM connector (A).
- Remove the TCM from the vehicle by loosening the mounting nut (B-3EA).
Tightening Torque: 9.8–11.7 N·m

Installation
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
