ISG (Idle Stop and Go) System

~1min read

The Idle Stop and Go (ISG) system automatically and temporarily turns off the engine when the vehicle has stopped and is idling, to improve fuel efficiency and reduce exhaust emissions (for example, at a red light, stop sign, or in traffic congestion).

The engine starts automatically when the initial conditions are met.

The ISG system is always active when the engine is running.

Information

When the engine is automatically started by the ISG system, some warning indicators (for example, ABS, ESC, ESC OFF, EPS and the parking brake warning light) may illuminate for a few seconds due to low battery voltage. However, this does not indicate a malfunction of the ISG system.
