Lane Follow Assist (LFA)

~2min read
Hyundai Palisade. Lane Following Assist (LFA) system

The Lane Follow Assist (LFA) system helps detect lane markings on the road with the windshield-mounted front view camera and assists the driver with steering to help keep the vehicle centered between the lanes.

WARNING

Lane Follow Assist (LFA) does not replace safe driving; it is a convenience function. It is the driver's responsibility to always stay alert to the surroundings and control the vehicle.

WARNING

Observe the following precautions when using the Lane Follow Assist (LFA) system:

  • Do not turn the steering wheel suddenly while the system is assisting steering.
  • The LFA system helps the driver keep the vehicle in the center of the lane by assisting steering. However, the driver should not rely solely on the system; always pay attention to the steering wheel to stay in the lane.
  • LFA system operation may be canceled or may not work properly depending on road and surrounding conditions. Always drive carefully.
  • Do not disassemble the LFA system camera, temporarily tint the window, or attach any kind of covers or accessories. If the camera is disassembled and reinstalled, take your vehicle to an authorized HYUNDAI dealer and have the system checked for calibration.
  • When replacing the windshield or related LFA system camera or parts, take the vehicle to an authorized HYUNDAI dealer and have the system checked for calibration.
  • The system detects lane markings and monitors steering with a camera; therefore, if lane markings are difficult to detect, the system may not operate properly. Refer to the "System Limitations" section.
  • Do not remove or damage related LFA system parts.
  • You may not hear the LFA system warning sound if the audio volume is high.
  • Do not place items on the dashboard that reflect light, such as mirrors, white paper, etc. This may prevent the LFA system from functioning properly.
  • Always keep your hands on the steering wheel while the LFA system is activated.
  • The steering wheel is not constantly monitored, so if the vehicle speed is above the lane departure assist speed, the vehicle may become uncontrollable by the system. The driver must always monitor the speed limit when using the system.
  • If you attach objects to the steering wheel, the system may not assist steering or the hands-off warning may not operate properly.
  • When towing a trailer, make sure that you turn off the LFA system.
