System Standby Mode, System Malfunction
System Standby Mode

The Driver Attention Warning (DAW) system enters the ready state and displays the "Standby" screen in the following situations.
- The system cannot collect data to monitor the driver's driving conditions.
- Vehicle speed remains below 64 km/h or above 180 km/h.
System Malfunction

When the warning message appears, the system is not operating properly. In this case, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
WARNING
- The Driver Attention Warning system does not replace safe driving practices; it is a convenience feature only. It is the driver's responsibility to always drive carefully to prevent unexpected and sudden situations from occurring. Pay attention to road conditions at all times.
- If the driver feels tired, take a break even if the Driver Attention Warning system does not suggest one.
Information
The system may suggest a break based on the driver's driving manner or habits, even if the driver does not feel tired.
NOTICE
The Driver Attention Warning system uses a camera sensor mounted on the windshield to operate. To keep the camera sensor in the best condition, observe the following:
- NEVER install any accessories or stickers on the windshield, or tint the windshield.
- NEVER place reflective objects (such as white paper or a mirror) above the dashboard. Any light reflection may prevent the system from functioning normally.
- Take extreme care to keep the camera sensor dry.
- Never disassemble the camera assembly or apply any impact to the camera assembly. If the sensor is forcibly moved out of alignment, the system may not operate correctly. Take your vehicle to an authorized HYUNDAI dealer and have the system inspected and calibrated.
CAUTION
The Driver Attention Warning (DAW) may not provide warnings in the following situations:
- Lane detection performance is limited. (For more details, refer to "Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)" in this chapter.)
- The vehicle is driven erratically or turns sharply to avoid obstacles (for example, construction areas, other vehicles, fallen objects, or a bumpy road).
- Front steering control of the vehicle is severely impaired (possibly due to large differences in tire pressure, uneven tire wear, or wheel alignment/toe).
- The vehicle is driven on a winding road.
- The vehicle is driven on a bumpy road.
- The vehicle is driven in a windy area.
- The vehicle is equipped with the following driving assist systems:
- Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)
- Smart Cruise Control (SCC)
- Lane Following Assist (LFA)
- Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)
- Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA)
- Highway Driving Assist (HDA)
CAUTION
Playing the vehicle audio system at high volume may prevent occupants from hearing the Driver Attention Warning (DAW) audible warnings.
