Blade Replacement

~2min read

When the wipers no longer clean adequately, the blades may be worn or cracked and must be replaced.

NOTICE

  • To avoid damaging the hood and wiper arms, raise the wiper arms only to the upper service position.
  • Always return the wiper arms to the windshield before driving.

Wiper Service Position

This vehicle has a "hidden" wiper design. This means the wiper arms cannot be raised when they are in the bottom resting position.

1. Within 20 seconds after turning off the engine, raise and hold the wiper lever in the MIST position for about 2 seconds, until the wipers move to the upper service position.

2. In this position, the wiper arms can be lifted off the windshield.

3. Carefully lower the wiper arms onto the windshield.

4. Turn the wipers to any ON position to return the wipers to the bottom resting position.

Type

1. Lift the wiper arm clip. Then lift the wiper blade upward.

2. Press the lock (1) and pull down the wiper blade (2).

3. Remove the wiper blade from the wiper arm.

4. Install the new wiper blade assembly in the reverse order of removal.

5. Lower the wiper arm onto the windshield.

Type B

1. Raise the wiper arm.

2. Lift the wiper blade clip. Then pull down the blade assembly and remove it.

3. Install the new blade assembly in the reverse order of removal.

4. Return the wiper arm to the windshield.

PLEDGE

If too much force is applied to the wiper arm when pulling the blade, the center part may be damaged.

PLEDGE

  • The wiper may not operate for approx. 10 seconds when the wiper is operated without washer fluid or when the blades are frozen. This is not a malfunction. The wiper motor circuit has activated the wiper protection system due to motor overload.
  • The front windshield should be washed with water from a hose and wiped with a clean cloth. Also, the wiper blades should be wiped when grease or wax is applied to the blades.
