Fuses

~1min read

The vehicle's electrical system is protected from damage by electrical overloads by fuses.

This vehicle has 5 fuse panels: one is located in the driver's side instrument panel and another in the engine compartment. If accessories or controls do not work, check the corresponding circuit fuse first at the driver's side fuse panel. If a fuse has blown, the element inside the fuse will melt or break. Before replacing a blown fuse, turn the engine and all accessories OFF, then disconnect the negative battery cable. Always replace a blown fuse with one of the same rating.

If a replacement fuse blows again, this indicates a problem in the electrical system. Avoid using the affected system and contact an authorized HYUNDAI dealer immediately.

WARNING

NEVER replace a fuse with anything other than a fuse of the same rating.

  • A fuse with a higher rating may cause damage and possibly a fire.
  • Do not install wire or aluminum foil in place of a fuse, even as a temporary repair. This may cause severe wiring damage and possibly a fire.

NOTICE

Do not use a screwdriver or any other metal object to remove fuses, as this may cause a short circuit and damage the system.
