WARNING

To avoid SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH to yourself or others, always follow these precautions when working near or handling the battery:

If acid gets in the eyes, flush the eyes with clean water for at least 15 minutes and get immediate medical attention. If acid gets on the skin, wash the area thoroughly. If you feel pain or burning, see a doctor immediately.

  • When lifting a battery with a plastic case, excessive pressure on the case may cause battery acid to leak. Lift the battery by the opposite corners using a battery carrier or by hand.
  • Do not attempt to start your vehicle if the battery is frozen.
  • NEVER attempt to recharge the battery while the battery cables are connected to the vehicle battery.
  • The electronic ignition system operates with high voltage. NEVER touch these components with the engine running or when the ignition switch is in the ON position.

NOTICE

  • When the vehicle is not used for a long period in a low temperature area, disconnect the battery and store it indoors.
  • Always keep the battery fully charged to prevent damage to the battery case in low temperature areas.

NOTICE

If you connect unauthorized electronic devices to the battery, the battery may be discharged. Never use unauthorized devices.
