Maintenance

Bulbs

~2min read

Contact an authorized HYUNDAI dealer to replace most vehicle bulbs. Replacing some vehicle bulbs is difficult because other parts of the vehicle must be removed before you can access the bulb. This is especially true for removing the headlamp assembly to access the bulb(s).

Removing/installing the headlamp assembly may cause damage to the vehicle.

WARNING

  • Before replacing a bulb, depress the brake pedal, move the shift lever to P (Park), apply the parking brake, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK/OFF position, and take the key with you when leaving the vehicle to prevent sudden vehicle movement and possible electric shock.
  • Be aware that bulbs may be hot and can burn your fingers.

NOTICE

Be sure to replace a burned-out bulb with one of the same rating. Otherwise, this may cause damage to the fuse or wiring system.

NOTICE

To avoid damage, do not clean the headlamp lens with chemical solvents or strong detergents.

Information - Headlamp and Rear Combination Lamp Desiccant Bag

This vehicle is equipped with desiccant bags to reduce fogging inside the headlamp and rear combination lamp due to moisture. The desiccant bag is made of moisture-absorbing material and its performance may change depending on the period of use or environment. If fogging inside the headlamp or rear combination lamp due to moisture continues for a long time, contact an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

Information

Headlamp and rear lamp lenses may appear to have frost if the vehicle is washed after driving or driven at night in humid weather. This condition is caused by the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the lamp, and does not indicate a problem with your vehicle. When moisture condensates inside the lamp, it will be removed after driving with the headlamps on. The removal time may vary depending on the lamp size, lamp position, and environmental conditions. However, if the moisture is not removed, have the vehicle checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

Information

  • A normally operating lamp may flicker briefly to stabilize the vehicle's electronic control system. However, if the lamp goes off after flickering briefly or continues to flicker, have the system checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
  • The parking lamp may not turn on when the parking lamp switch is turned on, but the parking lamp and headlamp may turn on when the headlamp switch is turned on. This may be caused by a malfunction of the vehicle's electrical wiring or the electronic control system. If this occurs, have the system checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

Information

Headlamp aim must be adjusted after an accident or after the headlamp assembly is reinstalled.
