Emergency Braking
If the brake pedal does not work while driving, you can perform emergency braking by pulling and holding the EPB switch. Braking is possible only while the EPB switch is held.
WARNING
Do not apply the parking brake while the vehicle is moving, except in an emergency.
This may damage the brake system and cause a serious accident.
Information
When emergency braking is applied, the parking brake warning light illuminates to indicate that the system is active.
NOTICE
If you notice a constant noise or burning smell while using the EPB for emergency braking, we recommend having your vehicle's system checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
When the EPB does not release
If the EPB does not release normally, we recommend towing your vehicle on a flatbed to an authorized HYUNDAI dealer, where the system can be inspected.
