Low-Aspect-Ratio Tires

~1min read

Aspect ratio below 50 for low-profile tires.

Because low-profile tires are optimized for handling and braking, their sidewall is slightly stiffer than a standard tire. Also, low-profile tires are generally wider and therefore have a larger contact patch with the road surface. In some cases, they may generate more road noise compared to standard tires.

PLEDGE

The sidewall of a low-profile tire is shorter than a conventional tire. Therefore, low-profile wheels and tires are easily damaged. Follow the instructions below.

  • When driving on rough roads or when leaving the road, be careful not to damage the tires and wheels. After driving, inspect the tires and wheels.
  • When passing over a pothole, speed bump, manhole, or curb, drive slowly to avoid damaging the tires and wheels.
  • If you strike a tire, inspect the condition of the tires. If necessary, contact an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
  • Inspect the condition and pressure of the tires every 8,000 miles (13,000 km) to prevent damage.
  • It is difficult to recognize tire damage by sight alone. When there is any slight sign of tire damage, inspect and replace the tire to prevent damage caused by air leakage.
  • If the tire is damaged while driving on rough roads, off road, or over obstacles such as a pothole, manhole, or curb, your warranty does not cover the damage.
  • Tire information is shown on the tire sidewall.
