General Interior Precautions

Avoid caustic solutions, such as perfume or cosmetic oil, from contacting interior parts, as they may cause damage or discoloration. If they contact interior parts, wipe them off immediately. Refer to the instructions for the proper method of cleaning vinyl.

NOTICE

  • Never allow water or other liquids to contact electrical/electronic components inside the vehicle, as this may cause damage to them.
  • When cleaning leather items (steering wheel, seats, etc.), use neutral cleaners or weak alcohol-based solutions. If you use high-alcohol solutions or acid/alkaline cleaners, the leather color may fade or the surface may peel.

Cleaning Upholstery and Interior Trim

Vinyl (if equipped)

Remove dust and loose dirt from vinyl with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner. Clean vinyl surfaces with a vinyl cleaner.

Fabric (if equipped)

Remove dust and loose dirt from fabric with a brush or vacuum cleaner. Cleaning with a weak soap solution is recommended for upholstery or carpets. Remove fresh stains immediately with a fabric stain remover. If fresh stains are not treated immediately, the fabric may become discolored and its color may be affected. In addition, its flame-resistant properties may be reduced if the material is not properly maintained.

NOTICE

Using anything other than the recommended cleaners and procedures may affect the appearance of the fabric and flame-resistance characteristics.

Leather

• Leather Seat Features

- Leather is made from the outer skin of an animal that has undergone a special process to make it durable. Since it is a natural product, each part differs in thickness or density. Wrinkles may appear as a natural result of stretching and contraction depending on temperature and humidity.
- The seat is made of stretch fabric for added comfort.
- The body-contact, curved, and side support areas are high, providing driving comfort and stability.
- Wrinkles may appear naturally from use. This is not a product defect.

NOTICE

  • Wrinkles or scratches that appear naturally from use are not covered by the warranty.
  • Belts with metal buckles, zippers, or keys inside the rear pocket may damage the seat fabric.
  • Be careful not to get the seat wet. This may change the nature of the natural leather.
  • Jeans or clothing that may bleed color may stain the seat upholstery.

• Leather Seat Care

- Vacuum the seat periodically to remove dust and sand from the seat. This prevents abrasion or damage to the leather and helps maintain its quality.
- Wipe the natural leather seat upholstery frequently with a dry or soft cloth.
- Using a proper leather protectant can prevent abrasion of the coating and helps maintain the color. Be sure to read the instructions and consult a specialist for the leather coating or protectant.
- Light-colored (beige, cream-beige) leather easily becomes soiled and stains are noticeable. Clean spots often.
- Avoid wiping with a wet cloth. This may cause the surface to crack.

• Cleaning Leather Seats

- Remove all contaminants immediately. See the instructions below for removing each type of contaminant.
- Cosmetic products (sunscreen, foundation, etc.)
Apply cleansing cream to a cloth and wipe the contaminated area. Wipe off the cream with a damp cloth and remove moisture with a dry cloth.
- Beverages (coffee, soft drinks, etc.)
Apply a small amount of neutral detergent and wipe until the stain no longer spreads.
- Oil
Immediately remove oil with an absorbent cloth and wipe with a stain remover for natural leather only.
- Chewing gum
Harden the chewing gum with ice and remove gradually.

• Prime Napa leather care (if equipped)

Avoid excessive sunlight and heat exposure. Excessive sunlight and heat naturally dry out and fade Napa leather, causing wrinkles and discoloration. If Napa leather is wet from liquid, immediately wipe it with a lint-free cloth to minimize damage. Do not scratch the leather surface with sharp objects. If your leather seats are brightly colored, they may be stained or dyed by colored materials such as jeans.

Interior Wood Trim

  • Use a protective wood treatment (for example, wax or a coating compound) before cleaning the interior wood trim.
  • Wipe the interior wood trim frequently with a clean, lint-free cloth to preserve the natural wood texture for a longer period.
  • If you spill a beverage (for example, water or coffee) on the interior wood trim, immediately wipe it with a clean, dry cloth.
  • Sharp objects (for example, screwdrivers, knives), adhesive materials, or tape may damage the interior wood trim.
  • Any strong impact may damage the interior wood trim.
  • If the finish coating over the interior wood trim is removed, moisture may damage or change the properties of the wood.
  • If the interior wood trim is damaged, you may get a splinter from the wood surface. Therefore, you must have damaged interior wood trim replaced immediately at an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

Cleaning the Seat Belt Webbing

Clean the webbing with a mild soap solution recommended for upholstery or carpet cleaning. Follow the instructions supplied with the soap. Do not bleach or dye the webbing, as this may weaken the seat belt.

Cleaning the Inside of the Window Glass

If the interior glass surfaces of the vehicle become fogged (that is, covered with an oily, greasy, or waxy film), clean them with a glass cleaner. Follow the instructions on the glass cleaner container.

NOTICE

Do not scratch or scrape the inside of the rear window. This may cause damage to the rear window defroster grid.
