When the ignition is turned to the ON position, the ESC indicator light comes on, and then turns off if the ESC system is operating normally.

The ESC indicator light flashes while the system is active.

If it stays on, this may indicate a malfunction of the ESC. If this indicator light comes on, we recommend that you have the vehicle checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer as soon as possible.

The ESC OFF indicator light comes on when you deactivate ESC using the button.

WARNING

When the ESC indicator light flashes, the system is active.

Drive slowly and NEVER attempt to accelerate. NEVER turn off ESC when the light is flashing; you risk losing control of the vehicle and causing an accident.

NOTICE

The ESC system may not function properly if your vehicle is equipped with tires of different sizes.

When replacing tires, select tires of the same size as the original tires.

Never drive the vehicle if the tires are not all the same size.
