Replacing Bulbs in Headlamps, Parking Lamps, Turn Signal Lamps and Fog Lamps

(1) Headlamps (high beam/low beam)
(2) Parking lamp
(3) Front turn signal lamp
(4) Fog lamp (if equipped)

Headlamp Bulb

1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the headlamp bulb cover by turning it counterclockwise.
3. Disconnect the connector from the headlamp bulb socket.
4. Unhook the headlamp bulb wire retainer by pressing its end and pushing it forward.
5. Remove the bulb from the headlamp assembly.
6. Install a new headlamp bulb and secure it with the wire retainer, seating the retainer in the groove on the bulb base.
7. Connect the connector to the headlamp bulb socket.
8. Install the headlamp bulb cover by turning it clockwise.

NOTE

If headlamp aiming is required after installation, consult an authorized Hyundai dealer.

Side marker lamp

1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the headlamp bulb cover by turning it counterclockwise.
3. Pull out the bulb socket.
4. Pull the bulb out of the socket.
5. Insert a new bulb into the socket.
6. Install the socket in place.
7. Install the headlamp bulb cover by turning it clockwise.

WARNING

- Halogen Bulbs

• Halogen bulbs contain pressurized gas, which may cause glass fragments to scatter if the bulb is damaged.
• Always handle such bulbs with special care, and do not allow scratches or other mechanical damage. Do not allow liquids to contact lit bulbs.

Do not touch the glass parts of bulbs with bare hands. Residual oil may cause overheating and rupture of the bulb envelope. Turn the bulb on only after it is installed in the lamp.
• If a bulb is damaged or broken, replace it with a new one as soon as possible. Dispose of a damaged bulb carefully.
• Wear protective goggles when replacing bulbs. Allow the bulb to cool before working on it.

Turn Signal Lamp Bulb

1. Stop the engine and open the hood.
2. Remove the socket from the lamp housing by turning it counterclockwise so that the socket tabs align with the notches in the housing.
3. Remove the bulb from the socket: press it in and turn it counterclockwise so that its tabs align with the socket notches. Pull the bulb out of the socket.
4. Insert a new bulb into the socket and turn it until it locks.
5. Install the socket in the lamp housing, aligning its tabs with the housing notches. Press the socket in and turn it clockwise.

Replacing Fog Lamp Bulb (if equipped)

1. Remove the front bumper lower cover.
2. Reach behind the front bumper.
3. Disconnect the power wires from the bulb socket.
4. Remove the bulb socket from the housing by turning it counterclockwise until the socket tabs align with the slots in the housing.
5. Install the new bulb socket into the housing, aligning the socket tabs with the slots in the housing. Push the socket into the housing and turn it clockwise.
6. Connect the power wires to the bulb socket.
7. Install the front bumper lower cover.
