Observe the instrument cluster warning lamps when starting the engine.
NOTE:
Normal starting, whether the engine is cold or hot, does not require pumping or pressing the accelerator pedal.
- Always apply the parking brake.
- Press and hold the brake pedal, then press the ENGINE START/STOP button once.
NOTE:
A start delay of up to five seconds may occur in very cold conditions. The WAIT TO START warning lamp will illuminate during the preheating process. When the WAIT TO START lamp turns off, the engine will crank automatically.
- The system will automatically engage the starter to crank the engine. If the vehicle does not start, the starter will disengage automatically after 25 seconds.
- To stop cranking before the engine starts, press the ENGINE START/STOP button again.
- Make sure the oil pressure warning lamp has turned off.
- Release the parking brake.
