Extremely Cold Weather

The engine block heater is a resistance heater installed in the engine water jacket. It requires a grounded 110–115 V AC electrical outlet with a three-wire extension cord. Its use is recommended in areas where temperatures normally drop below -10°F (-23°C). It should be used when the vehicle is not operated overnight or for longer periods, and should be connected two hours before starting. Its use is required for cold starts at temperatures below -20°F (-28°C).

NOTE:

The engine block heater cord is a factory-installed option. If your vehicle is not equipped, block heater cords can be purchased from an authorized Mopar® dealer.
