Removal

When removing the high-pressure fuel pump, high-pressure fuel line, delivery pipe, or injector, injury may occur due to high-pressure fuel leakage. Do not perform repair work immediately after stopping the engine.
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Relieve the residual fuel pressure in the fuel line. (Refer to Fuel System - Repair Procedures - "Relieve Residual Fuel Pressure in Fuel Line").
When the fuel pump fuse is removed, a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored. Clear the DTC with GDS after completing the "Relieve Residual Fuel Pressure in Fuel Line" procedure.
  3. Disconnect the fuel rail pressure sensor and injector connectors (A).
  4. Remove the intake manifold. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Intake Manifold")
  5. Remove the injector insulator (A).
  6. Remove the high pressure fuel tube.
    1. Loosen the flange nut in the order A, B using the SST (09314-3V100).
    2. Remove the high-pressure pipe bracket bolt (A).
    3. Remove the functional unit mounting bolt (A).
  7. Remove the mounting bolt (A), then remove the pressure pipe and injector from the engine.

Installation

  • Do not reuse the injector retainer.
  • Install the component with the specified torque.
  • Note that internal damage may occur if the component is dropped. In this case, inspect it before use.
  • Apply engine oil to the O-ring of the injector.
  • Do not reuse the injector O-ring.
  • Do not reuse the bolt.
  • When inserting the injector, be careful not to damage the injector tip.
  • When tightening the fuel line mounting bolts (A), first tighten fully by hand, then tighten in the correct sequence ( → → ) in several passes to the specified torque.
  1. Install in the reverse order of removal. Pressure pipe bolt: 18.6 ~ 24 N·m High-pressure fuel pipe nut: 29.4 ~ 35 N·m High-pressure fuel pipe functional unit bolt: 7.8 ~ 11.8 N·m High-pressure fuel pipe bracket bolt: 7.8 ~ 11.8 N·m
