Repair Procedures

Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Remove the airbag lower panel.

    (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "Lower Airbag Panel")

  3. Disconnect the brake switch connector (A).

  4. Disconnect the lock pin (A) and the flat head pin (B).

  5. Remove the brake pedal mounting nuts (A).

    Tightening torque: 16.7–26 N·m

  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Inspection

  1. Inspect the bushing for wear.

  2. Inspect the brake pedal for bending or twisting.

  3. Inspect the brake pedal return spring for damage.
