Repair Procedures

Removal and Installation

1. 1

   Remove the engine room cover.

   (See Engine and Transaxle Assembly - Under Hood)

2. 2

   Remove the oil drain plug and drain the oil into a container.

   (See Lubrication System - Engine Oil)

3. 3

   Disconnect the connector (A) and remove the oil pressure switch (B).

   

4. 4

   Install in the reverse order of removal.

Inspection

1. 1

   Using an ohmmeter, check the continuity between the terminal and the body.

   If there is no continuity, replace the oil pressure switch.

   

2. 2

   Check the continuity between the terminal and the body while pushing the thin wire.

   If there is continuity even when the thin wire is pushed, replace the switch.

   

3. 3

   If there is no continuity when a pressure of 19.6–39.2 kPa (0.2–0.4 kgf/cm², 2.8–5.6 psi) is applied through the oil hole, the switch is operating properly.

   Check for air leakage. If air leaks, the diaphragm is damaged.

   Replace it.
