1. Rear panel assembly

Repair Procedures

Replacement

  1. Remove the rear door upper trim panel.

    (Refer to Rear Door - "Rear Door Trim")

  2. Remove the liftgate side trim.

    (Refer to Rear Door - "Rear Door Trim")

  3. Remove the liftgate garnish.

    (Refer to Rear Door - "Rear Door Trim")

  4. Using a screwdriver, lightly lift the clips (A) on both ends of the rear liftgate lift support (B).

  5. Disconnect the liftgate connectors and wiring harness (A).

  6. After loosening the mounting bolts, remove the tailgate assembly (B).

    Tightening Torque: 21.6–26 N·m

  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
