Vehicle Recognition

Some of the following vehicles ahead in your lane may not be detected by the sensor:
- Narrow vehicles, such as motorcycles or bicycles
- Vehicles offset to one side
- Slow-moving vehicles or vehicles that suddenly decelerate
- Stopped vehicles
- Vehicles with a small rear profile, such as unloaded trailers
A vehicle ahead may not be detected correctly by the sensor when any of the following occurs:
- When the vehicle is tilted upward due to a load in the cargo area (tailgate)
- During turns
- When driving on one side of the lane
- When driving on narrow lanes or on curves
Adjust your vehicle's speed by depressing the brake pedal according to the road and traffic conditions ahead.

• When your vehicle is stopped and the vehicle in front of you changes to the next lane, be careful when your vehicle starts moving, because you may not immediately recognize the stopped vehicle ahead of you.
In this situation, you must maintain a safe braking distance and, if necessary, press the brake pedal to reduce speed in order to keep a safe following distance.

• Always watch for pedestrians when your vehicle is maintaining a distance from the preceding vehicle.

• Always be careful when approaching vehicles that are taller with higher ground clearance, or vehicles carrying loads that protrude from the rear of the vehicle.
WARNING! Slopes and Towing
Do not use the Smart Cruise Control system on steep slopes or when towing another vehicle or trailer, as such excessive loads may interfere with your vehicle's ability to maintain the selected speed.
WARNING
When using Smart Cruise Control, observe the following precautions:
- If an emergency stop is required, you must apply the brakes. The Smart Cruise Control system may not be able to fully stop the vehicle or avoid a collision in all situations.
- Maintain a safe distance according to road conditions and vehicle speed. If the distance to the vehicle ahead is too small while driving at high speed, a serious collision may occur.
- Always maintain sufficient braking distance and decelerate your vehicle by applying the brakes when necessary.
- The Smart Cruise Control system may not detect a stopped vehicle, pedestrians, or oncoming vehicles. Always watch the road ahead carefully to respond to unexpected and sudden situations.
- Vehicles ahead of you that frequently change lanes may cause a delayed system response or may cause the system to react to a vehicle that is actually in an adjacent lane. Always drive carefully to respond to unexpected and sudden situations.
- Always be aware of the selected speed and the distance to the vehicle ahead. Do not rely solely on the system; always pay attention to driving conditions and control vehicle speed.
- The Smart Cruise Control system may not recognize complex road situations, so always pay attention to driving conditions and control your vehicle's speed.
- For safe operation, carefully read and follow the instructions in this manual before use.
CAUTION
The Smart Cruise Control system may temporarily stop functioning due to electrical interference.
✽ NOTICE
The Smart Cruise Control system may malfunction due to:
- Electrical interference.
- Suspension modification.
- Differences in tire wear or tire pressure.
- Installation of different types of tires.
