Electric Vehicle Battery System

Description and Operation of Fast Charging

~1min read

Description

Fast charging charges the battery using high voltage from a fast charging station. Electrical power is supplied directly to the battery through the fast charging port. To protect the battery, it is charged up to 84% during the first charge, and up to 95% during the second charge.
The fast charging relay and the PRA relay protect the charging port reliably by cutting off current to the fast charging port. Electric current flows through the fast charging relay and the PRA relay only when the connector is connected to the fast charging port.
