On-Board Charger (OBC) Repair Procedures

Removal

Be sure to read and observe the "General Safety Information and Caution" before performing any work on the high voltage system. Failure to follow the safety instructions may result in serious electrical injury. Before performing any work, be sure to disconnect the high voltage related to the high voltage system (refer to "High Voltage Disconnection Procedure"). Failure to follow safety instructions may result in serious electrical injury.

   Disconnect high voltage. (Refer to High Voltage Battery Management System - "High Voltage Disconnection Procedure")

   Remove the high voltage junction box. (Refer to High Voltage Distribution System - "High Voltage Junction Box")

   Drain the coolant by loosening the drain plug. (Refer to Traction Motor System - "Coolant")

   Disconnect the OBC cable connector (A) and the OBC signal connector (B).

   Loosen the connector bracket mounting bolt (C) and remove the connector bracket (D) from the OBC.

   Disconnect the OBC coolant hose (A).

   Loosen the mounting bolt and remove the reservoir cover (A) from the OBC.

   Loosen the air conditioning battery mounting bolt (A). (With heat pump)

   Loosen the OBC mounting bolt (A) and remove the OBC.

   

   

Installation

1. Install the OBC in the reverse order of removal.

   OBC mounting bolt: 1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf·m

   When filling with coolant, perform air bleeding by activating the electric water pump (EWP) using the GDS. (Refer to Engine Cooling System - "Coolant")
